Georgia joined us after 25 years of working in various leadership roles as in-house counsel with Laiki Bank, Bank of Cyprus and the Cyprus Cooperative Bank. In the Coop she took the leading in-house role in the sale of the Coop’s performing banking operations to Hellenic Bank as well the Altamira deal under which a new entity was set up, Altamira Asset Management (Cyprus) Ltd for the purpose of servicing the Coops’ non-performing loans as well as for dealing with other assets.
As regards the Altamira deal she was appointed as one out of the first three directors representing the Bank in the said joint venture.
Georgia’s experience across all levels of banking and finance work allows her to offer pragmatic and effective advice on all banking and finance matters and fits in with our firm’s philosophy of offering quality solutions based commercial and practical advice.
Georgia has hit the floor running and advises on all manner of finance, debt, bank resolution and restructuring issues.
She is also currently leading the team advising the producers of two films to be shot in Cyprus (one is already in production) taking advantage of the Cyprus Film Rebate Scheme. Georgia is handling all commercial agreements as well as advising on the finance side of the project.
Georgia read law at Leicester, has an LLM in maritime law from UCL and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers UK. She was also called to the English Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1991.
Georgia is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association.
She is fluent in Greek and English.
